Chew TV

Chew TV is a pioneering IPTV portal run by and for young people. It aims to give a voice to young people and to provide a platform and network for new talent in digital media.

HMC Interactive, working in partnership with Chew TV, took over the technical management of the site in October 2007. Chew TV has been redesigned with a new, fresh look. The site has also been changed from Flash to HMTL to aid accessibility and search engine ranking. It is now a more engaging, user friendly site, and easier to monitor and manage.

Chew TV has been integrated with the current internet social networks Facebook, Beebo and MySpace ideally meeting the needs of young people today.

A big improvement from a Business Development point of view can be seen in the creation of different Channels within the site. External companies and groups can now fund their own branded channels and moderate their own content.

Work at Chew TV in the next few months will involve: Integrating with international colleges, schools and filmmakers, and working on gathering and developing new content.

Additionally as part of Chew TV development, the Chew Table integrates a video viewing system that prompts discussion amongst young people on a range of issues.

Positioned in the middle of the interactive round table, a young person from Chew TV, in a Master of Ceremonies type of role, monitors and encourages discussion in this collaborative, fun and educational social networking experience.

Its friendly approach enables youngsters to talk about issues that they would normally otherwise feel shy or reticent to discuss.

Chew TV’s partners are: RiO (ex-CP), SW Screen, Cornwall Film, Twofour Digital, HMC Interactive and Excess Energy communications.
